We are pleased and proud to announce that one of our own, Turkey’s Eren Odabasi, has been selected as a member of the jury of the 52nd Semaine de la Critique awarding the France 4 Visionary Award, as part of the Cannes Film Festival next month. The France 4 Visionary Award was first given out last year to reflect the cinephile’s passion and enthusiasm for new talent in the film industry. This year’s jury is presided over by French director and screenwriter Mia Hansen-Løve.

Eren is a film critic and journalist for Turkish monthly film magazine Altyazi, as well as a contributor to the brand new Karsikultur website. He will cover the other sections in Cannes for both these outings during (time permitting) and after the festival, and hopes to contribute for the ICS as well. After the summer, Eren will start his PhD in communication and film at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in the US in September.
